Manager, Head of Audit

Maria Ellina is a member (ACCA) of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants of the UK and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus after obtaining her BSc in Economics from the University of Cyprus. She started in the Firm as an Audit Supervisor in 2016 and due to her efforts and devotion has climbed the corporate ladder and now holds the position of the Manager of the Audit and Assurance Department. Prior to joining Alterius in 2016, Maria has been employed for 6 years in the audit and accounting services industry where she gained extensive experience, mostly in the audit field.

Maria has extensive experience in the preparation of Financial Statements and Auditing. She became experienced throughout time to perform risk-based financial audits for clients as per ISA & ICPAC’s guidelines and to consult her clients accordingly to their benefit, ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements under the Cyprus Law. Maria has also, experience in Taxation services. She is informed and keeps up to date with local and international changes and developments related to tax matters by attending relevant seminars, and monitoring local and international press and websites, which specialize in taxation and related topics.

Maria runs the department efficiently and at the same time is involved in the Business Advisory by providing the firm’s clients, both local and international, with appropriate advice and solutions to assist them in operating successfully in their business environments.
